What the Articles do
Articles of Organization create the Minnesota LLC record. They do not automatically create:

Required information
Minnesota statute says Articles of Organization must state:
- LLC name
- Street address of the initial registered office
- Agent name if the LLC has an agent for service of process
- Name and street address of each organizer
The registered office is required. The registered agent is optional for a domestic LLC.
After approval
- Save the approved Articles of Organization.
- Sign the operating agreement.
- Get EIN from IRS if needed.
- Apply for Minnesota Tax ID if tax accounts apply.
- Register UI employer account if hiring.
- Check ELicensing and local permits.
- File the free annual renewal by December 31.
